ATLANTIC CITY — AT&T has donated $80,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs around the state, including the local club.
AT&T’s donations went toward STEM programs — science, technology, engineering and math — and included $30,000 to the Atlantic City location.
The local club’s STEM curriculum focuses on career and college preparation.
The money also went toward new computers for the club’s newly reopened location in the Chelsea section of the city, said Maryann McElroy, director of development at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City.

“Helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in 21st-century careers is a critical step to building the diverse workforce we need to power our company — and our country — for the future,” J. Michael Schweder, president of AT&T Mid Atlantic, said in a statement.
The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic received $25,000 toward its STEM program, SAT preparation and field trips.
