Burlington man sentenced in sex assault at Atlantic City casino garage

A 22-year-old Burlington County man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Monday for a robbery and sexual assault in the Tropicana Casino parking garage in May 2011.

Brent Johnson, 22, of Burlington, was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for robbing a Freehold man and woman and sexually assaulting the female victim.

The male victim as found by police to be bleeding and he said the was punched and kicked in the head during the robbery.

Johnson was convicted in August — along with two co-defendants Brandon Cooper, 22, of Beverly, and Leon Peterson, 19, of Lumberton — of first-degree robbery by a jury. Johnson and Cooper were also found guilty of sexual assault.

The three suspects were arrested at the parking garage when police responded at 4 a.m. that morning. Johnson was found to have a BB gun tucked into his waistband.
