CRDA to hold first community forum for Tourism District in Atlantic City
The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority will listen to the
community’s input on the state Tourism District in Atlantic City on
Monday night at the first of five meetings scheduled during the
next month.
The district includes the beach, Boardwalk and two blocks north,
plus the Marina District and Bader Field. The CRDA next meets April
19, its last final public session before the agency’s May 1
deadline for finalizing the boundaries of the district.
CRDA interim executive director Susan Ney Thompson and Mayor
Lorenzo Langford, who sits on the CRDA’s board, and others have
suggested scaling back the zone to exclude much of the resort’s
Chelsea section, which leads to Ventnor. Others advocate adding
Gardner’s Basin.
