ATLANTIC CITY — The crowd was big but bidding was slow Thursday at an ambitious auction of properties in and outside the city.

Several parcels expected to draw the most investor interest didn't catch even a single bid at their minimum price. They included the old Knights of Columbus Hotel on the beach block of Pacific Avenue and the auction site itself, a union hall converted to restaurant space on North Albany Avenue.

Auctioneer Robert Salvato said the minimum bid on the North Albany property was $750,000.

Interest also was low in several collections of property in nearby towns.

Six lots in Galloway Township got only the minimum bid of $20,000, and an 11-acre property off the White Horse Pike in Galloway drew no bids at all.
