A 24-year-old man from Atlantic City was arrested Monday by an off-duty officer following a brief foot pursuit.

Officer Anthony Abrams attempted to stop the man, later identified as Rasheed Phillips, at Tennessee and Baltic Avenue at 8:38 p.m. and he fled on foot. Officers Haliema Leach and Dustin Paulsson joined the pursuit.

Officer David Hadley was dressed in a suit and tie, having just finished his shift, when he heard the pursuit coming in his direction. He then apprehended Phillips.

Phillips was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of law, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of CDS within a housing complex.

Phillips was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $50,000 bail. Paulsson injured his ankle during pursuit and was taken to AtlantiCare for treatment. He was released.
