Two Atlantic County men were charged Monday with the July murder of an Atlantic City man during a shooting that also injured a baby, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said.

Murder and conspiracy charges were authorized against Kahlil S. Blackwell, 20, of Mays Landing, and Demarice G. Bennett, 25, Pleasantville, in the killing of Sedrick Lindo, 25.Two other males were previously charged with murder in the case.

Lindo was shot several times as he sat on a porch at Carver Hall Apartments, according to a release from the Prosecutor’s Office.

A 3-month-old baby was injured in the shooting, hit in the chest by what was believed to be a bullet ricochet.

Bennett and Blackwell are currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.

Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury has set bail for the murder and conspiracy charges at $500,000 cash for each defendant, the release said.

First appearances for the defendants have yet to be scheduled.

In August, Joshua M. Cross, 25, Mays Landing, was charged with murder and conspiracy in Lindo’s shooting. He had been jailed on unrelated charges.

In October, Mujahid Blackwell, 16, of Atlantic City, turned himself into the Atlantic City police. Officials had said Mujahid Blackwell had been charged with homicide and a warrant issued for his arrest in the case.
