OCEAN CITY — Fourteen tourists from Great Britain are stranded in this resort city because the Icelandic volcano eruption has disrupted their flight plans home, but Ocean City officials are trying to make them feel welcome.
The volcano eruption last week has grounded airline travel and stranded travelers worldwide.
Ocean City officials sent out a news release announcing that the tourists were in their city. The city plans to greet the visitors officially at an 11 a.m. ceremony Friday in City Council chambers.
The news of the visitors' situation came from the Ocean City Pharmacy, a city news release said.
