The Cape May dance troupe Shore Thing advanced into the semi-final round of 18 in the new dance competition show "Live To Dance," featuring Paula Abdul, of "American Idol" fame, as a judge.

Shore Thing performed in costume and makeup to a Michael Jackson song during the series premiere Tuesday.

During the first half of Wednesday's program, a prerecorded video showed the dance troupe learning that they made it into the next round, and members screaming with excitement.

The grand prize with the "Live To Dance" show is $500,000. The next episode airs from 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesday on KYW-TV 3 out of Philadelphia. The first six of the 18 acts will battle it out. Two of the performers advance to the next round. The show features dancers of all ages, sizes and styles, and solo and group performers.
