The Cape May-Lewes Ferry celebrated the 14 millionth vehicle to cross the Delaware Bay on Friday morning.
More than 42 million passengers have used the ferry to cross the 17 miles between Delaware and New Jersey since operations began on July 1, 1964. The ferry is now operated by the Delaware River & Bay Authority.
The Ungemah family, of Millsboro, Del., bought the 14 millionth ticket to cross to Cape May. They were presented with a gift package by Lewes terminal manager Nikki Fisher.
