Five people from Wildwood were arrested Monday on drug charges following a month long investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wildwood Police Department.

Authorities searched a home on the 200 block of East Baker Avenue and found more than an ounce of cocaine, 130 bags of heroin, prescription narcotic pills, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and $3,101 in cash, authorities said.

Joel Candelaria-Cuevas, 25, Jordan Beretto, 20, Jose Perez-Garcia, 21. Renaldo Colon-Goicochea, 21, and Edwin Velez-Soto, 47, were all charged with possession of cocaine and heroin, possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to distribute, intent to distribute 1,000 feet of a school zone and within 500 feet of a public place, and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

They were all transported to Cape May County jail on $75,000 cash bail except for Velez -Soto – who was also charged with resisting arrest – and was held on $100,000 cash bail.
