A Lower Township man was arrested for allegedly trying to strike his son with a mailbox during an argument Sunday, police said.

Andy Williamson, 53, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and obstruction. He was held on $10,000 cash bail.

Police responded to Williamson’s home on the 100 block of Locust Avenue because of a fight between him and his 25-year-old son. Police said Williamson allegedly attempted to strike his son with a mailbox he pulled out of the ground.
