MIDDLE TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating a bomb threat that closed a portion of Route 9 Tuesday.

Police received a call at 12:27 p.m. from Complete Healthcare, 410 Route 9 North, that someone left a note indicating that there was a bomb in the building.

The building was evacuated and a portion of Route 9 was diverted until the building was deemed safe. DRBA K-9 and Cape May County Sheriff’s K-9 officers responded as well as Township Police, Cape May Court House Fire, and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department.

After the building was cleared, the building was deemed safe and Route 9 was opened. The road was closed for about one hour.

Ptl. Larkin and Detective Stocker are investigating.
