OCEAN CITY — Police are asking for help identifying a man who stole cash Friday from Playland’s Castaway Cove on the Boardwalk.

The man was recorded on store cameras taking money from a deposit bag left unattended, Capt. Steve Ang said. Playland was open for a ticket sale at the time, he said.

“During the end of the day, they had a bag that contained some cash on the counter,” Ang said. “One of the customers went into the bag and took out some cash.”(tncms-asset)0c067658-b716-11e6-9a6d-00163ec2aa77(/tncms-asset)

He said the amount taken was less than $1,000.

In images provided by police, the man appears to be partly bald with dark facial hair trimmed short. He is wearing a green, long-sleeved shirt and black pants with flip-flops.

Anyone with information can call Detective T.J. Mullineaux at 609-525-9128 or send a private message to the Ocean City Police Department’s Facebook page.
