The seventh annual Women In Business Conference on Thursday in Avalon will offer workshops, panel discussions and networking opportunities designed for women business owners, professionals and women seeking to advance in business.

The event is hosted by the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce and will be held at the Golden Inn in Avalon. Sponsors include 1st Bank of Sea Isle City and Sun National Bank.

The keynote speech will be given by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.

The conference will start at 11 a.m. with bonus sessions, giving attendees a choice of either a LinkedIn 101 session or a workshop offering tips for staying fit on a budget.

Workshops will include Social Media Strategies for Success; Managing Your Financial Timeline; Becoming a Career Connector; and Starting, Refinancing and Growing Your Business — Knowing What Your Bank Is Looking For.

A panel discussion with leading businesswomen from Cape May County will conclude the conference, followed by a networking reception.

Sticky marketing

Brad Tornberg, a consultant from Voorhees, will speak about “Duct Tape Marketing” to the Public Relations Council of Greater Atlantic City on Tuesday.

Duct Tape Marketing is the work of marketing consultant John Jantsch, author of “Duct Tape Marketing: The World’s Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide.” He also created the Duct Tape Marketing System and Duct Tape Marketing Consulting Network.
