Northfield
Missing girl, 15,
found in N.C.
A missing Northfield teen has been found in North Carolina, where her 26-year-old boyfriend is now sitting in jail.
Candace Mazza, 15, was reported missing after she left her parents' home at 7 p.m. Friday and did not return. She was believed to have left voluntarily with Michael Todd Lampkin Jr., police said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina received a call Sunday from Northfield Detective Michael Bucafurni saying that Lampkin was at a residence in Lincolnton and wanted to turn himself in, Sheriff's Department spokesman Jon Mayhew said Monday.
Lampkin was arrested without incident at the home of a relative at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday, Mayhew
said.
He is being held without bond at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center in Lincoln pending extradition to New Jersey to face a kidnapping charge, Mayhew said.
Northfield Capt. Randy Clark said the investigation was successful thanks to a coordinated effort by Bucafurni, Detective William Ward and Patrolmen Gaetano DiMarco and Michael Bach.
