A city man died Friday night, in the town’s second fatal shooting in just more than a week.

Joseph R. Elliott, 31, of Elmer Street, was shot once in the face at about 11:20 p.m. in the Maple Garden Apartments complex off South East Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Detective Lt. Michael Gaimari said.

It appears there was an argument between Elliott and at least two other people, Gaimari said. This was the second argument to turn deadly this month. On July 15, Andre E. Harris was shot. Jose R. Rodriguez, 21, turned himself in four days later. No suspect names have been released.
