MILLVILLE - Authorities said Tuesday they were investigating the shooting of two city men on Monday afternoon.

The men were walking on Third Street when they were shot at about 5:15 p.m., police said.

The victims - Christopher Cook, 24, of the 200 block of South Third Street, and Andrew Thompson, 23, of the 500 block of North Third Street - were both taken to South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland, police said. Cook was eventually airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, they said.

Cook was listed in stable condition, officials with Cooper University Hospital said. Officials with the regional medical center said they had no information regarding Thompson.

According to police, Thompson said he and Cook were walking on Third Street near Oak Street when they were shot. Several rounds were recovered from the scene, police said.

Police said that "no suspects could be identified at this time."

The shooting remained under investigation by the local Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
