A 14-year-old male was shot Saturday afternoon in the Stow Creek, Cumberland County, in a hunting accident.

State Police said troopers from the Bridgeton barracks responded to the incident behind a residence on Cook Road in Stow Creek.

The victim, a Greenwich Township resident, was with a small group of hunters, including his father, when a discharged shotgun pellet struck him below the eye. He was transported by Medevac to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.

Police say the injuries were not life threatening. No criminal charges are pending.

The investigation has been turned over to the state Division of Gaming Enforcement.
