Route 72 causeway into LBI to be closed at 1 p.m. By DONNA WEAVER, Staff Writer The Press of Atlantic City Media Group
Ship Bottom mayor William Huelsenbeck said this morning that the state Department of Transportation will close the eastbound lane of the Route 72 causeway into Long Beach Island at 1 p.m. so the bridge can be inspected.
Huelsenbeck said the amount of heavy equipment using the causeway may have caused further damage to a bridge that the state has already deemed to be structurally deficient.
