A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for all of South Jersey until 9 p.m. Friday evening.

The counties included are Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, and Ocean.

A watch indicates the potential for strong storms. If a storm becomes imminent, a warning will be issued.

Strong wind gusts and heavy downpours are the main impacts of any thunderstorm that can develop and become severe.

Storms now developing over eastern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland will move east in our direction for the mid to late afternoon hours.
