In the courts
A handful of accused killers have court dates scheduled this week -- all for pre-trial conferences. They include: Robert Davies (Monday), accused of stabbing a Welsh tourist in Margate; Mark Magee (Tuesday), accused of shooting a Trump Taj Mahal shift manager at work; and Nicholas Nigro (Friday), accused of shooting a mother and daughter in their Egg Harbor Township home.
In the schools
It's parent-teacher conference time. Remember the teacher has many parents to speak to, so try to keep the meeting focused on academic issues and your child. If you have questions, write them down. If anything major comes up, schedule a private appointment with the teacher.
In theaters
The bad news is that there's little worth seeing in theaters next week - unless, of course, you are a fan of hot, hunky vampires. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" shows up at 11:59 p.m. Thursday - so expect to see lots of teenage girls with a crush on the undead filling the theaters.
In Atlantic City
311 and Slightly Stoopid hit the stage at the Event Center at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa at 8 p.m. Saturday. If you were hoping to catch Def Leppard or Sean Paul's performances in the city that's always turned on, better luck next time - both shows have been cancelled.
