LINWOOD -  An early morning crash on Shore Road in Linwood left two injured, police said.

A third person was "not believed to have been injured," they said.

At about 3:30 a.m., a blue Toyota Highlander was heading south on Shore Road when it crashed into a telephone pole, Lt. Colin Hickey said in a statement. Two of the occupants were transported to the Regional Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, Hickey said, though their conditions were not available.

"No information about the occupants or the possible cause of the crash is being released pending further investigation," Hickey said, adding that "the third occupant was not transported and was not believed to have been injured."

The SUV was heavily damaged and the telephone pole was severed, Hickey said, leaving a number of nearby residents without power. Shore Road was closed for 10 hours while crews replaced the pole and restored power.
