Revel has announced Maroon 5 will be the first to play in the megaresort's 5,050-seat Ovation Hall on May 18 in a lead-up to its May 25 grand opening.

The band, whose popularity has grown during the past two years thanks to lead singer Adam Levine’s coaching role on NBC’s “The Voice,” will christen the stage 8 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the $2.4 billion Revel resort.

No ticket prices have been announced for the event. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at ticketmaster.com.

Maroon 5 has won three Grammys so far in the band's career, including the award for Best New Artist in 2005. The band's song "Moves like Jagger," which features singer and co-star of "The Voice" Christina Aguilera, is getting plenty of radio play.

Levine also lent his voice to Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts," a song also dominating the airwaves.

The band jumped into the mainstream with the release of their first album, "Songs About Jane," and their first hit, "Harder to Breathe." "This Love" came off the same 2002 album.

"Moves Like Jagger" is off the band's third album, "Hands All Over," which also features the hit song "Misery."

Revel is quickly filling up performance slots for the Ovation Hall stage in May. The announcement came just three days after the resort revealed that Beyonce will headline the the grand opening weekend with three concerts 9 p.m. May 25, and 8 p.m. May 26 and May 27. Tickets for Beyonce's show go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at ticketmaster.com

The rock band The Black Keys also are set to take the Ovation Hall stage Saturday, May 19. Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. March 30.

With the addition of the Maroon 5 and The Black Keys, Atlantic City has added to its already impressive list of entertainers for the weekend of May 17. Penn & Teller are bringing their famous magical act to Harrah's Resort 9 p.m. May 18 and 19.

KC and The Sunshine Band will be hitting the Tropicana Showroom stage 9 p.m. May 19, while Boyz II Men will take their fans back to the '90s at Resorts Casino Hotel 8 p.m. May 19.

It will be a busy night at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa as Joan Rivers brings her act to Borgata's Music Box 9 p.m. May 19. For those looking for a taste of summer and surfing, the Beach Boys are bringing their harmonies to Borgata's Event Center 8 p.m. May 19.

Revel opens its doors April 2 for a soft opening in anticipation of its May 25 grand opening Memorial Day weekend.
