PLEASANTVILLE — Fatigue and failure to maintain a lane were contributing factors in a city police officer’s crash into a pole in February, Capt. Matt Hartman said Monday.
At 5:40 a.m. Feb. 18, Officer Rackeli Fontana, a former dispatcher who became an officer about a year ago, was treated for injuries to her face at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, following the crash at New Road near Woodland Avenue, Hartman said.
Fontana was traveling south on New Road when her police vehicle struck a utility pole and a tree.
She is still recovering at home, Hartman said.
No return date has been set for Fontana, but she expects to be back to work soon, Hartman said.
