ATLANTIC CITY — Two city men were arrested Friday after police said they robbed a man of his cellphone and wallet.

Messiah Henry, 21, and Robert Timmons, 23, were charged with robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit robbery, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.

At 5:30 p.m., three men robbed a 27-year-old man at knifepoint in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue, Fair said. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet and cellphone after cornering him against the wall, he said.

The victim was able to push one of the suspects and run away. The suspects fled before police arrived, Fair said.

At 9 p.m., Officers Ryan Kov, Thomas Gilardi, Auttika Taing and Rick Lasco stopped a group of males near the spot of the robbery. Henry and Timmons were arrested and taken to the Atlantic County jail, police said.

The identity of the third suspect is still being investigated.
