A Villas man was identified by police as the driver killed in a Middle Township crash Wednesday evening.
Robert Pitts Jr., 65, of Villas, was driving a sedan in the southbound lane of State Highway 47, when his vehicle was allegedly struck by a sedan which, while heading northbound, entered the southbound lane.
The driver of the other sedan, Robert J. Demarco, 29, of Williamstown, has been charged with DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain a lane, according to Middle Township police.
Pitts was extricated and transported to Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City branch, where he was later pronounced dead.
