The Atlantic City Development Corp., which is overseeing the Gateway Project, owned the building and tore it down because it was a structural problem, said Christopher Paladino, president of AC Devco.

AC Devco also owns the nearby Eldredge building. Both properties haven’t been occupied in years, Paladino said. The Holiday Motors demolition helps with the development of the Eldredge site, Paladino said.

AC Devco’s Gateway Project will include a Stockton University campus and South Jersey Gas headquarters.
