VINELAND — The man who died in a crash that involved 12 people on Mill Road last Thursday has been identified as Jean-Patrick Michel, according to police.

Michel, 21, of Vineland, was traveling south on Mill Road at 6:19 a.m. when he collided with a van carrying 11 people. Michel’s car caught on fire as a result of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Vineland Police Department.

The 11 people in the van were all injured. Two of them were airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden while another one was taken by ambulance there. The other eight people were taken to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and being handled by the Vineland Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information relating to the crash can contact the lead investigator Fredrick DeMary at 856-691-4111, ext. 4253.
