ADAMS, CHARLES RICHARD "CHARLIE" , - 71, of VENTNOR, PASSED AWAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2017 AFTER A LENGTHY AND COURAGEOUS BATTLE WITH CANCER. CHARLES WAS BORN IN ATLANTIC CITY AND RAISED IN VENTNOR HEIGHTS, NJ. HE GRADUATED FROM ATLANTIC CITY HIGH SCHOOL IN 1966, HE SERVED AS A STAFF SERGEANT IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY 1966-1969 AND THE ARMY RESERVES UNTIL 1979. CHARLES RETIRED FROM THE ATLANTIC CITY POST OFFICE AFTER 33 YEARS AS A LETTER CARRIER. HE THEN MOVED TO NEW PORT RICHEY, FLORIDA AND WORKED FOR SOUTHEAST PERSONNEL LEASING UNTIL FULL RETIREMENT. CHARLES WILL BE LOVINGLY REMEMBERED, AND IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 47 YEARS, CHRISTINE (SAPP), HIS SONS, CHARLES JR AND STEVEN, HIS 3 GRANDSONS STEVEN JR, JOSHUA AND TIMOTHY, BROTHER JAMES ADAMS (BONNIE), SISTER CATHERINE ADAMS-BARNES (ADAM), BROTHER JOHN ADAMS AND MANY LOVING NIECES AND NEPHEWS. CHARLES WAS PRE-DECEASED BY HIS DAUGHTER CATHERINE ANNE ADAMS AND PARENTS CHARLES AND PHYLLIS ADAMS (GRAINGER). SERVICES TO BE HELD PRIVATELY WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, THEREFORE, IN LIEU OF FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS CHARLES ASKED THAT DONATIONS BE MADE TO SAINT JUDE'S CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOR CANCER RESEARCH IN MEMORY OF HIS DAUGHTER AND HIMSELF.

So sorry for your loss Christine. I took care of your in laws in Ventnor Hts awhile back. They were very nice people. Phyllis always talked about living in Pitney Village in AC across the hall from my parents in the 1040's when my brothers were babies. Small world. Prayers to you and yours.
