BLEAU RAYMOND N. - 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, early Tuesday morning, May 6, 2014 at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division, after a lengthy illness. Ray was born in Atlantic City December 21, 1936 to Raymond and Kathleen (nee O'Rourke) Bleau. He attended St. Nicholas Grammar School, Holy Spirit High School and graduated Atlantic City High School in 1955. He was an outstanding athlete and excelled in basketball. After high school, he travelled with the Washington Generals, opponents of the Harlem Globe Trotters. Locally, he played for various City leagues, including the Morris Guard, Babe Hasson, The Red Devils and Previties, a tri-county League. Ray served honorably in the US Army from 1960-1962. He later joined the Atlantic City Fire Department, where he served from 1964 until he retired in 1990. He was an avid golfer and a past member of Mays Landing Country Club. Ray is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Kathleen. One daughter, Karen DeGeorge and her husband Jim. His brother-in-law, Howard Seiver and his wife, Harriet; his cousins, Hellen Fetter, Jim O'Rourke, and his wife Claire, Michael O'Rourke and his wife Marilee, Kathleen Simione and her husband Danny and Breda Thomas, as well as many other cousins in Ireland. He will be sadly missed by his rescue dog, Missy. Friends and family may call on Saturday, May 10th, from 9-10:30AM at Parsels Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ (609-641-0071) A celebration of life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. His final place of rest will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding Highway, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the R. N. S.
