HIGHT, Maurice H., - 86, of Erma passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Maurice was born in Portland, ME on April 25, 1931 to Maurice and Alma Hight. He attended Portland schools and graduated from Bates College. He became a YMCA Director and served YMCA's in Boston, Mass; North Adams, Mass; Bayonne, Montclair and Camden County, NJ. He formerly lived in Haddonfield, NJ where he was active in the Haddonfield Y's Men's Club and St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Upon retirement to Cape May County he became an active member of the Cape May Lutheran Church; was chairman of the Fare-Free Transportation Advisory Commission; a member of the Lower Twp. Environmental Commission and was the organizer of the Community Good Friday Breakfast. Maurice is dearly missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 63 years, Patricia; sons, Stephen (and Jean) of Marshfield, Mass. and Jeffrey of South Portland, ME; daughter, Susan (and George) Unverzagt; grandchildren, Meredith Bartels (Nate), Elizabeth Hight, Carolyn Hight, Eric Unverzagt and Jack Unverzagt. Maurice's memorial ceremony will take place on a future date with due notice to be given for those who wish to attend. Interment will take place in Portland, ME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cape May Lutheran Church, 509 Pittsburgh Ave., Cape May, NJ 08204.
