HOLMES, ROMONA WILMA (Nee ALFORD) - died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Galloway. Wilma, was born on June 19, 1939, to Bertha and James Alford in Dillon, SC, where she attended the locals schools. She later attended Glassboro State College. After her children became of school age, she began working for the Atlantic City Board of Education in the CECEP program. She later worked for Bally's Park Place until her retirement in 2007. She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Gary Holmes, Sr., Lance Holmes, Sr., Lisa Jackson (Jeff) and Gina Holmes; mother, Bertha Davis; sister, Beatrice Tyner; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Lance, Jr., Fariyd, Darren, Marcus, Jeffrey, Jr., Edward, Antoine, Joshua, Brianna, Danielle, and Hassan; great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends, including Alice Dent and Ronnie McKenzie. Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, April 5, 2014, St. James AME Church, New York & Arctic Avenues, Atlantic City, where friends and family may view from 9AM. Interment will follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., Atlantic City. Condolences may be left at www.greenidge funeralhomes.com

    To the entire family, on behalf of My Family.
    I wish you all the best at this time. You have each other to console and renew your strength. She was always so proud of each one of you. Every moment you spent with her had more meaning than you recognized at the time. It was the why of life, every event and precious moment of it. The answer to the mystery of existence is the love you shared. Celebrate!
