JEFFRIES, MARY A. (Nee McGEE) 85 - passed away peacefully on Sunday March 2nd, 2014. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, raised in Allentown, PA and moved to Atlantic City while in high school. She was a graduate of HSHS. Mary married Jack Jeffries in 1949, and soon after moved to Margate to raise their family. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are sons, John (Jane) Jeffries of Milton, GA., Tim (Louise) Jeffries of Virginia Beach, VA., and Patrick Jeffries of Lafayette, LA.; daughters, Maryann (Bob) Kelly of Margate, NJ and Janine (Tim) Merendino of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ; grandchildren, Dr. Maggie (Shawn) Williams, John (Emily) Jeffries, BM-2 USCG Tim (Jeni) Jeffries, Charlie, Kevin and Aidan Jeffries, Robbie and Jack Kelly, Catie and Anthony Merendino; great-granddaughters, Ellie Williams and Charlotte Jeffries. Mary is predeceased by husband, Jack; her sister, Eleanor Doyle; brothers, Edmond, John and Jim McGee. After retirement from Margate City Hall, she and Jack became snowbirds first in the Florida Keys then in the Villages FL. They also loved to travel and cruise all over the world. After Jack's passing, she continued to travel with her daughters. Mary loved shopping, cooking, cheering on the Phillies and Notre Dame football. Sunday breakfasts with her family were always special. She was also known to engage in lively political discussions! A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday March 7th at Holy Trinity Parish at Epiphany Church in Longport at 10am. Relatives and friends may call from 9am at the church. Interment Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery. Donations can also be made to the Hospitalier Sisters of Mercy, 915 S. Main St. Pleasantville NJ 08232. Arrangements made by Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home.

    John & Jane, Janine, Maryann and family: All our love and prayers are with you......Mary was such an awesome angel here on this earth and now in Heaven.......always so sweet and so wonderful. She is safe in the arms of Jesus.
