Keenan, William James, - 84, of Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away on April 14, 2018 at his home near the beach after a valiant battle against cancer. William was born in Philadelphia on April 1, 1934 to Frank and Catherine (Fahey) Keenan. After graduating from Lincoln Prep in 1952, he earned a B.S. in Business Administration from LaSalle University. William served in the Army for six years and early in his career was appointed Director of the Division of Community and Professional Services under NJ Governor William Cahill. Following many years in the building business in Moorestown, NJ, he had a successful career in mortgage banking in Cape May County. William loved his adopted hometown of Stone Harbor and for 35 years was a very active member of the community there. He served as Post Commander for American Legion Post 331, President of the Stone Harbor Seniors Club, Secretary of Stone Harbor Lions Club, Committee Leader of the Stone Harbor Republican Club, member of the Knights of Columbus and Trustee of ROA. He was an active parishioner at St. Paul's Church, St. Brendan the Navigator Parish where he served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister. William is survived by wife Lori, son William Jr., son Barry and daughter in law Tara Pal, daughter Kathleen and son in law David Nuzzo, and six amazing grandchildren: Riley, Salvatore, Sach, Sammie, Jack and Will. Memorial Mass will be said on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, St. Brendan the Navigator Parish, 9910 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, where visitation will begin at 9:30.
