Manos, PUZAK, IRENE , - 74, of Keithville, Louisiana, formerly of Margate, passed away recently at home. Irene (Renee) was born on April 10, 1943, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to Anna (Saridakis) and Peter Manos. She was raised in Indiana and graduated from Indiana High School in 1961, where she was captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and an active member of the GAA (Girls' Athletic Association). After earning her bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1965, she started her career as an elementary teacher with the Los Angles public school system. She went on to teach with the Detroit school system, followed by the Newark school system, and ended her teaching career with the Egg Harbor City school system in 1980. After retiring from teaching, Renee became involved in business ventures, including assisting in the development of a residential condominium complex in Millville and assisting as an owner/operator of The Haute Dog House, a luncheonette in Margate. With her keen intelligence, sharp wit, and great sense of humor, Renee was always entertaining and lots of fun to be with. She enjoyed playing bridge, needlepoint, and knitting in addition to being an expert cook. Irene was predeceased by her parents and younger sister, Marie Manos. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Puzak Mauer, with whom she lived; her four grandchildren, Jimmy, Shyann, Justin, and Rachel; her former husband, William Puzak; her brother, Ted (Barbara) Manos,; nephews, Peter and Leo Manos; and lifelong friend, Sally Weakland Souchock. At a future date a prayer service in memory of Irene will be offered at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Atlantic City, followed by a graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Indiana, PA. funeral arrangements were handled by Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport.
