MESSINA, CONCETTA "CONNIE" 83 - of Atlantic City, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday April 13th, 2014, at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point. Connie was born and raised in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City and a lifetime devoted parishioner of her Church, St. Michael's. She sang in the choir, was actively involved with The Wedding of the Sea and The May Crowning, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was also a member of The Mary Help of Christians at St. Michael's Church for over 65 years. Over the years, Connie had been employed at Washington Mutual Insurance Company, and was paymaster at Abate Clothing Company and Kravitz Brothers Clothing. She loved to cook for her family, and enjoyed going to the beach. You could always count on seeing her on her porch, listening to music, and talking with neighbors and friends. Connie is predeceased by her husband, Anthony P. Messina. She is survived by her sons, Carmen (Linda), of Egg Harbor Township, and Domenick of Atlantic City; her sister, Sara Persenda; and brother, Charles Monreale, both of Egg Harbor Township. Connie is also survived by her grandsons, Anthony and Justin Messina; and by numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many friends. A Mass of Resurrection will be Celebrated for Concetta Messina 11am Monday, April 21, 2014, St. Michael's Church 10 No. Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City. Relatives and friends may call from 9am to 11am at DANTE HALL, adjacent to the Church, at 10 North Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City. The Rite of Committal will be offered at the family Mausoleum in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in Connie's memory to: St Michael's RC Church 10 North Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
