Royal, Verna F, - 97, of Annville, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Lebanon Valley Home, holding the hand of her loving daughter. She was the wife of the late Maurice Y. Royal, Jr. Born in Atlantic City, NJ on October 17, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. and Anna (Bowman) Randall. Verna graduated from Pleasantville High School and went on to work for the Mainland Press and Journal for over twenty years. Verna attended Church of the Redeemer in Hershey, and enjoyed oil painting and quilting. Verna showed her artwork at the Lititz art show, Shippensburg Fair, Franklin County Fair, and Batsto Village in NJ. She received numerous awards at Shippensburg, Franklin County, and Batsto. She was also honored as Path Valley Lioness of the Year 1999-2000 and given the Secretary Award PV Lioness 1990-91. Surviving is a daughter Nancy J. Zeigler of Elizabethtown, and companion George Kapp, grandson Bryan D. MacLeod and wife Jaime, and two great granddaughters, Annalise and Caelyn MacLeod. She was preceded in death by a son J. Lawrence Royal, and three brothers, Paul, Frank and Earl Randall. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Chapel at the Lebanon Valley Home, 550 E. Main Street, Annville, PA 17003. There will be a visitation starting at 9:30AM prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
