STETZER, SAMUEL SAMPSON M.D. 82 - of Cape Coral, FL and previously Longport, NJ passed away on March 31, 2014. Born in Longport NJ, on November 1, 1931, Sam attended Atlantic City High School and continued his education at Syracuse University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Hahnemann Medical College. He served in the U.S. Navy as Medical Officer aboard the USS San Pablo. From 1970-1982 he was Chief Attending Surgeon at Atlantic City Medical Center, retiring in 2000 as Medical Director/Department Head of Human Services for Atlantic County. Sam was an avid hunter, boater, carver, angler, pilot, and target shooter, winning many ribbons and trophies for trap and skeet shooting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Nellie Watts Stetzer; children, Scott E. Stetzer, Longport, NJ, Leslie Ann (Aaron) Finkelstein, Owings Mills, MD; and stepchildren, Arthur T. Ford, IV Cape Coral, FL, Richard W. (Stacy) Ford, Tiburon CA, and Susannah L. (Scott) Cable, Chandler, AZ. Services will be private .

    I am so sorry to hear of Sam's passing. I really miss having lunch with Sam and talking about fishing, hunting and flying over the last years. My last visit to your home in Florida was also very special. I will miss him. God bless you and your family.
