Weisbecker, Louis, - of Egg Harbor Township, departed this life at the age of 95 on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was a gentle, sweet, and humble man. A man of amazing character and morals, incredible work ethic, and a heart full of love for his family, his friends, and his country. A Navy Veteran of WWII, he fought aboard ships in both the Pacific and the Atlantic theaters throughout the war. He worked as a meat cutter for the Acme for many years. After his retirement he worked at the Tilton Market in Northfield where he had good friends. Lou's open mind, kind heart, and giving spirit established him as the patriarch of his family. His detailed stories of his early life and of his days in the Navy will be retold and cherished for years to come. He was always there for family members in need. His kind nature was an inspiration to all who knew him. He read the paper every day (without glasses) and enjoyed watching baseball and sports. His greatest joy in life was his family. His love and devotion to Kathy and Derek was beyond compare. Lou enjoyed growing beautiful South Jersey produce on the farm he shared with his brother in law, Larry Watts. The fruits of his labor were generously shared with his family and friends. He could be found daily having a beer on the bench with Larry, discussing the events of the day and of their lives. Lou was predeceased by his wife, Marian; and his first wife, Marie; his brothers Adolph and Walter; and his sisters, Catherine O'Brien and Louise Corbett. He is survived by his step daughter, Kathleen Dumas; his grandson Derek Tuohy; and his great granddaughters, Hannah and Emily. He is also survived by his sister, Agnes Bambrick; son in law Jimmy Tuohy; and his loving and devoted caregiver, Michael Boateng, who made it possible for Lou to continue to live in his home. He will be greatly missed, deeply loved, and never forgotten by his best friend and brother in law, Larry; in laws Buddy and Diane Borden; nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. A viewing will be held from 10:00am until the time of mass at the church. Interment will be held in Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Maureen Senese Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Suite Inspiration, 82 Freedom Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080.
