Alternatives exist

to euthanasia

Regarding the Oct. 1 editorial, "Death with dignity in N.J./

Reasonable proposal," about Assemblyman John Burzichelli's bill that would allow doctors to prescribe lethal drugs to the terminally ill:

No. Lethal injection for the terminally ill is euthanasia. As a person who has worked with the ill with compassion for many years, I know there are many drugs available to give patients maximum relief from severe pain until the natural time of death.

'Death with dignity'

amounts to murder

Regarding the Oct. 1 editorial, "Death with dignity in N.J./

Reasonable proposal":

How amazing the English language is. How amazing the lengths to which people skilled with words will go to make almost anything seem acceptable and perhaps even noble. "Death with dignity." "Termination of pregnancy." It's all the same - murder.
