Tony Anderson (left) of New Castle, Del., was crabbing in the back bay and was curious about the banding of the osprey chicks. Toft invited Anderson to come and watch as he and his students banded the chicks from the nest. Hans Toft, natural science teacher at Cape May County Technical High School, and a volunteer group of his students, ventured into the back-bay marshes between the high school and Stone Harbor, to count and band nested osprey chicks as part of the state's bird banding program.
