The Wetlands Institute holds a Hooked on Fishing program 9:30-10:30 a.m. every Saturday through Sept. 2.

Staff at the Wetlands Institute will show novice anglers the how-to's of fishing, from how to bait a hook to casting a line, catching a fish and reeling it in.

Fishing poles and bait are provided.

The Hooked on Fishing program is free with institute admission.

The Wetlands Institute at 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd. in Middle Township offers a variety of nature-themed programs throughout the week, including salt marsh safaris, kayak excursions, dune and beach walks, back-bay birding and wildlife tours, dockside crabbing, a daily creature feature and other activities.

Summer hours are 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily through Aug. 31, with evening hours until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Admission is $8 for adults and children age 13 and up and $6 for children 3-12. For information call 609-368-1211 or see wetlandsinstitute.org.
