Bill Hughes Jr., candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Representative in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District announced Monday his campaign raised $190,515 in the first quarter of 2014.

“I’m humbled and grateful for the outpouring of grassroots support I’ve received from the voters in New Jersey’s 2nd District,” Hughes said.

Hughes, a former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, said his fundraising totals of over $375,683 with $328,171 cash on hand since announcing, is record setting for the district during that time period.

Hughes is an attorney for Atlantic City firm Cooper Levenson. He is a resident of Northfield.
