Former President Bill Clinton says speculating about his wife's political future is a waste of time and the nation needs to be more focused on the big problems.

Asked at a summit on the nation's budget if Hillary Rodham Clinton may run for president in 2016, the former president jokes, "Hillary hasn't mentioned it to me."

Bill Clinton says at the 2013 Fiscal Summit that speculating about his wife's future is "the worst expenditure of our time" because it prevents people from "getting into the grimy details" of the problems facing the country.

He says the former secretary of state and New York senator is taking a role at his foundation, writing a book and "having a little fun being a private citizen for the first time in 20 years."
