Samantha Mays and Emily Mays, 13 and 5, pick up gelatinous globs with shovels at the Jefferson Avenue Beach in Wildwood Crest. A gelatinous mass of clear jellylike globs, were washing ashore along Cape May County beaches Wednesday. The globs were thought to be salps, a deep-water invertebrate that has come ashore due to upwelling of the ocean.
