Bob Galbraith sang and played guitar recently in his Brigantine home. Galbraith just began a new group for musicians, performers and others who enjoy folk music. 'I've always wanted to have that kind of outlet down here,' said Galbraith, who moved to Brigantine full-time seven years ago.

Writer and radio host Raymond Tyler led the Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Workshop on Jan. 16 at the Atlantic City Free Public Library. ‘The importance of (the workshop) is to go beyond what’s typically talked about during this time of year,’ Tyler said.

As part of the Hooked on Ventnor program, free toiletries, cleaning supplies, paper goods and clothing are available to victims of Hurricane Sandy at the Ventnor Community Center at 6500 Atlantic Ave in Ventnor. Counseling services are also available through New Jersey Hope and Healing, the FEMA sponsored program to help victims of storms and flooding.

From the Mental Health Association, the counselors are working with the FEMA grant program New Jersey Hope and Healing to assist storm victims ‘manage the emotional consequences of storms and flooding.’ Lepore was displaced by Hurricane Sandy.
