The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to replenish beaches in South Jersey in four different areas this fall and winter. The projects, which are all estimated to cost between $5 million to $10 million, include:
-- At least a million cubic yards of sand onto Ocean City’s beach from Seaview Road to 14th Street
-- At least 350,000 cubic yards onto Brigantine’s beach from North 14th Street to South 14th Street;
-- At least 300,000 cubic yards on beaches in Avalon and Stone Harbor that were eroded after a beachfill project in the spring of 2011.
-- At least 300,000 cubic yards onto the Lower Cape May Meadows area from Cape May Point through Lower Township to Cape May City.
