The Hermits reached the South Jersey final this season.
They seem poised to again compete for a state title in 2013. St. Augustine will return several key players in prominent positions, most notably pitcher Chris Oakley, shortstop Christian Adorno, catcher Barry Buchowski and pitcher/first baseman Joe Gatto.
Some of the region's top players also will return next season. Pitcher Justin Smith of Hammonton was 10-2 as a sophomore this year. Buena Regional will return five of the eight position players who started in the state Group II final.
