Ocean City opened the Atlantic County Baseball League season with a 1-0 win over visiting Wildwood on Friday. O.C. pitcher Justin Byrd went the seven-inning distance and allowed three hits, with two strikeouts and no walks.

Margate 4, Egg Harbor City 0: Lou Pepper struck out nine and walked one in a four-hit shutout. Troy Dixon had two hits, Pat Goodwin hit a solo home run, and Steve Schrenk had an RBI. Margate is 2-0, while Egg Harbor City is 0-2.

Absecon 15, Egg Harbor Township 2: Absecon pitcher Matt Allen worked four innings to pick up the win, giving up four hits and two runs. Kenny Morgenweck was 2-for-2 with a double a walk and three RBIs for Absecon (1-1).

For EHT (0-2), Gio Contreras doubled and scored in the fourth inning.
