Local college roundup: Stockton men's basketball wins Vassar College Invitational

Richard Stockton College beat Vassar College 91-62 in the championship game of the men's basketball Vassar College Invitational on Saturday in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

The Ospreys, ranked fifth in Division III, handed Vassar its first loss. Santini Lancioni, scored 20 points and was named the invitational's Most Valuable Player.

Stockton women's basketball: The Ospreys lost to Mary Washington 59-44 in the first round of the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament at John Hopkins University.

LaTonya Oliver led the Ospreys with 20 points.

Stockton cross country: Ospreys junior Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City) finished 180th out of 276 runners in the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio.

Akhtar's time was 27 minutes, 22.70 seconds in the men's eight-kilometer race.

Ocean County College women's basketball: Heather Neumenn had 28 points as host OCC beat Northampton 83-74.

Ocean County College men's basketball: Devon Ratliff had 32 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, but host OCC fell to Northampton 87-85 in overtime.

Cumberland County College women's basketball: Kyana McCarthy (Hammonton) led CCC with 15 points as it defeated Sussex County Community College 74-30.
